The second largest airport in Spain, Barcelona is a major international hub, with many European destinations and services to North America, Latin America, North Africa and south-east Asia. Note that from Australasia and Africa, it may be easier and cheaper to fly via one of the London or Paris airports.
Barcelona is a hub for the One World Alliance, with many routes from North and South America.
Train services to and from the airport ( journey time about 20 minutes) are available every 30 minutes on Renfe Line 2 to the main city Barcelona Sants station, from where fast trains to Narbonne are available.
Ryanair’s flights to Béziers have helped investment in the airport, which is modern, small and user-friendly. As well as several UK routes, Béziers has services to Oslo, Stockholm and Düsseldorf. Flybe offers a limited service from Southampton. There is a shuttle service to the city, from where you can catch a train to Narbonne or Lézignan-Corbières.
Ryanair is the only airline with scheduled flights to Carcassonne from several UK and northern European cities, as well as Porto.
Located 3km west of the medieval citadel of Carcassonne, this is a small airport with a good cafe on the first floor that offers a great view of the runway. There is a bus service to the station, from where you can catch a train to Lézignan-Corbières or Narbonne.
Girona Airport has grown significantly over the last few years, with 17 airlines currently (at August 2012) flying to many destinations across Europe. The main airline is Ryanair, which flies to nearly 60 destinations across Europe and North Africa.
You can take a bus to the centre of Girona and then take a train from there to Narbonne or Lézignan-Corbières.
Ten airlines, including Easyjet (from London Gatwick) and Ryanair, provide a limited number of routes serving northern Europe and the North African coast.
The airport is about 9 km south-east of Montpellier and a shuttle service to the city centre takes about 15 minutes.Then take a train from there to Narbonne or Lézignan-Corbières.
Perpignan airport (‘Rivesaltes’) is small and very user-friendly, but has only a limited range of flights from the UK and continental Europe. Located just 3km north of the city, there is a shuttle service to Perpignan train station for connections to Narbonne or Lézignan-Corbières.
There are many services to Toulouse, since it is one of France’s largest cities, including Toronto and Montreal, north Africa, the Middle East and many European destinations. It is also good for connections from long-haul flights into London’s major airports – with several flights daily by British Airways from Heathrow and Easyjet from Gatwick.
A 20 minute shuttle takes you to the railway station, which is a fast TGV train ride to Lézignan-Corbières or Narbonne.
