Chateau Ventenac is a large, extremely well appointed gite
situated in the Languedoc region of southern France.

Take over the whole château for your holiday

Château Ventenac is available for self-catering holidays by a large family or group. Our six bedrooms and five bathrooms accommodate up to 12 adults and 4 children in style and comfort, and your group will have the whole house and its spacious gardens to yourselves.

Descriptions of the individual bedrooms can be found on the Accommodation page

Cots and high chairs are available on request at the time of booking.

The well-equipped French country kitchen has everything you need, from a garlic press to a coffee maker, as well as two dishwashers. We provide starter packs of essential supplies for our guests and there is a fully equipped laundry room in the cellar.

The drawing room and smaller TV room have comfortable chairs and settees including a sofa bed. The house has a library of books and games and is equipped with satellite TV and wireless Internet. (As with all Internet connections we cannot guarantee continuous service).

For winter holidays, the big open fire is particularly welcoming - we keep a ready supply of logs for guests' use.

The Dining Hall has an impressive wooden ceiling and the long refectory-style dining table comfortably seats 16. At the garden end of the dining hall a large doorway opens onto the whiskey a shaded balcony.

Here you can sit in the shade overlooking the gardens with views to the Pyrenees over the vineyards.

The other end of the dining hall has a doorway that opens out into the village at the back of the Chateau right next to the church. Sadly services are only held here once every two weeks on Saturday evening.

This door leads into the village square where several times a week vans arrive selling everything from chickens to tomatoes to shoes.

Outside there is a large terrace set overlooking the gardens, ideal for family meals, and drinks as you watch the sun go down. The gardens are terraced and because of this there are a number of steps. Because of this the property may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. We ask our guests to supervise small children at all times, particularly in the outside areas.

There is a private swimming pool and plenty of shady spaces including a pergola next to the pool where you can relax, either swinging gently in a hammock or sitting watching the boats on the Canal du Midi while enjoying a glass of the local Minervois wine which is produced at the Caveau of “Chateau de Ventenac Minervois” which is just 50 metres away.

In the cellar there is a table football table, and in the gardens an all-weather table tennis table.

Ventenac is the ideal base from which to explore the Languedoc, and we have plenty of guidebooks and maps so you can make the most of your stay.
