"We had a wonderful stay whilst enjoying a cookery course at Chateau Ventenac in May 2009. The accommodation, especially our room, was beautifully furnished, and the garden and swimming pool are ideal for a relaxing break. As soon as we arrived, we felt welcome, and the atmosphere was very relaxed, friendly and informal. The village is ideally-located for walks and visits to the local area, particularly along the Canal du Midi".

As soon as we arrived, we felt welcome, and the atmosphere was very relaxed, friendly and informal. The village is ideally-located for walks and visits to the local area, particularly along the Canal du Midi. Rachel’s teaching and creative cookery skills were absolutely brilliant. I was extremely impressed by her ability to constantly adapt the recipes and skills to the course members’ individual tastes and abilities, and also to the food and equipment available at the time. She never failed to help us to produce appetising and beautifully-presented food. I look forward to trying out many of the recipes at home. |

The ‘communal’ atmosphere was great. Couldn’t have been looked after better – Julia, you had just the right touch, relaxed and accommodating. And your volunteers were as pleasant and efficient as anyone could have wished. Oh, and great airport pick-up (so important to feeling one’s arrived in the right place!) |

A very generous table throughout our stay. And all the extra touches were much appreciated: the celebratory drinks on the terrace for example. Lovely, thank you ! A truly beautiful room! And it was so thoughtful of you to put me on the first floor. Thank you......Julia, you’re a born hostess. Nothing is too much trouble and you looked after us very, very well, making Chateau Ventenac feel like a home from home! Thank you. I’ll be back! |

The room was beautiful, as was the bathroom and I liked the availability of tea and coffee making facilities on the landing. It was very clean, bright and airy. We were amazingly looked after, treated like family and yet also treated as very welcome guests. Julia is an amazingly warm and kind woman who was completely approachable – even down to the supply of ear plugs etc. I would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend the venue.
