Landscape
Painting Holiday in Acrylics
with Annemie
Op De Beeck
September 7th to 13th 2008 and June 2009
These
courses are for both novices and more experienced artists,
as the tutor will encourage everyone to work at their own
pace. It is an opportunity to experiment with various types
of painting or drawing in different mediums although if you
want to concentrate on acrylics for 5 days that’s OK
too. This is your week.
The course fee includes 6 nights bed and breakfast, 5 lunches
and 5 dinners, as much wine as you care to drink and transfers
to and from local airports (Carcassonne, Perpignan &Beziers)
and stations (Narbonne).
Annemie
will encourage you to join her in the beautiful surroundings
close to Chateau Ventenac to observe the landscape : she will
invite you to look at true colours in nature and help you
to put these on paper or canvas.
Be carried away by the beauty of the scenery, the bright colours
……and compositions will appear: what is the structure
of the landscape? How do I start? What about perspective,
light/shadow, dimensions, depth?…. etc.
She will teach you to master some important techniques which
will allow you to express your creative talents and to obtain
the results that you desire. Through exercises you will experience
new ways of expression, whether you paint in a classical or
more abstract way.
Annemie is a huge fan of acrylic paint: A medium which combines
the effect of water-colour with that of oil-painting and which
is a hugely flexible technique!
Annemie is also a master of other mediums – she will
help you whether you use acrylic paints, oil-paint, water-colour,
pencil, charcoal, colour pencils, pastels…
Annemie
has a long history as a painter. With painting experience
of more than 40 years now, she has been instructed by different
painters in Belgium and abroad – in both the classic
way and through inner inspiration. She started painting with
oil paint at the age of seven, experienced sketching (pencil
and charcoal), water-colour, paints in nature, still-life,
nude, figurative and abstract. Nowadays she is an absolute
fan of acrylics and also uses mixed media and collage in her
most recent works. With her natural curiosity she continues
to search for new ways of expression and she gladly shares
her passion with her students.
Her work has been exhibited in Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands,
and France.
She has been a painting teacher for more than 15 years now
to both novices and more experienced artists alike, in Belgium,
Ireland, and France.
Her mother tongue is Dutch – she speaks English and
French fluently, and is happy to teach in any of those languages
although for the purposes of this course English will be the
first language.
