Pascale Petit’s Poetry Course “Freeing the Imagination”

Today at Chateau Ventenac sees the start of Pascale Petit’s Poetry Course ”Freeing the Imagination”….and everyone managed to beat the volcanic ash cloud. Well done all!!

We picked up the poets from Beziers, Carcassonne and Narbonne – home in time for Lucy’s delicious dinner followed by an initial sesssion with Pascale.

If your week is anything like as good as ours last week (and I’m sure it will be!), you are all in for an absolute treat, but…

    We have drunk
    all the wine
    that was in
    the chiller

    and which
    you were probably
    hoping
    for later.

    Forgive us,
    it was delicious
    so dry
    and so cold.

  • Julia:

It’s OK guys -fear not – I’ve been to the caveau next door at Chateau Ventenac to replenish the stocks after the last lot of poets left the building!!

  • Cath Kane:

Our week in Le Chateau has been wonderful, all stocks have been replenished thanks to Julia and the team. As always it has been a pleasure working with Pascale and fellow poets.

    Look forward to next year

    Cath

  • Chateau Ventenac and surroundings is a great place for writing. All guests are really looked after by Julia and her team so all you have to do is to wait for the muse to turn up!

  • Paul:

This is a special place and will sit strongly in life’s book of memories. That was the week when…we had a view to the snowy mountains, watched swifts and swallows sweep and dive, made new poetry friends, heard new voices, shared laughs and had the chance to spend time with a great and giving poet; Pascale Petit. Thank you Julia for being the catalyst.

    Paul.

We travelled continents at altitude, giggled our way through joyous starlit evenings, slipped into the magic of poetry – all made possible by Pascale’s dedicated teaching and Julia’s exceptional skills as host (not to mention Lucy and Danielle’s gourmet three course dinners). Thank you for a wonderful week.

  • Cath Kane:

Looking forward to seeing fellow poets at the forthcoming launch of Pascale’s Latest collection ‘What the Water Gave me’ on Thursday 17th June reviewed this weekend in the Guardian

  • Julia:

I have just posted a video for the course participants of Pascale’s course in May.
I’m going to be in London at the very end of August if anyone fancies joining me for a drink before I go back to France??

  • Andrew Proudfoot:

Wonderful video. Can’t wait to see ours! ;-)
