Bed
and breakfast holidays are available at the Château in March,
April, May, September, October and November. The rest of the year
we can offer self catering holidays for those who would like to
rent the whole Chateau.
Ventenac
is a perfect location for exploring everything that the Languedoc
has to offer and many of our bed-and-breakfast guests use the Château
as a base for touring holidays. Local activities include cycling,
horse-riding, and golf, as well as everything the Mediterranean
- just 30km away - has to offer. Other visitors stay with us when
they are looking for a holiday home or a place to live in the region,
and we can introduce you to local estate agents. Yet others are
drawn by the fascinating Cathar Country, and if this is your interest
you might like to combine your visit with one of our holiday
courses on the subject.
The
accommodation we provide is of a very high standard. All of our
bedrooms are south-facing, and have panoramic views down across
our lovely gardens to the Canal du Midi and on to the vineyards
that surround the village. The rooms have polished oak floors and
spectacular fireplaces, and have all been recently decorated. Equipment
provided includes tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers.
The Méditerranée
suite has a period marble fireplace, king-size four-poster
bed, full-size single bed and an optional cot, a traditional double
wardrobe, comfortable chairs and a dressing table. The en-suite
bathroom has a traditional style claw-foot bath with shower attachment,
WC, bidet, and a large traditional washbasin.
The Atlantique
suite has an original decorated full-height fireplace. It is furnished
with a king-size canopied bed, a full size single bed and an optional
cot. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, WC and vanity unit.
The
Entre Deux Mères suite has a traditional French double bed
and a desk. The bathroom has a 'wrap-round' hydrotherapy shower
cubicle.
These
rooms have optional interconnecting doors and can be made available
as a suite of three rooms, suitable for families or a group of friends
at a special rate, please ask us for details.
We are happy for children
to stay, although we do ask parents to be aware that this is a 19th
century house, so smaller children need to be properly supervised.
Unfortunately the house is not really suitable for guests who are
elderly or infirm.
We provide a traditional
breakfast of fresh coffee or tea, croissants and baguettes from
the local baker, along with a choice of cereals. We can also provide
(at extra cost) packed lunches, although nearly every village in
the area has restaurants offering prix fixé menus
of excellent value and the highest quality.
Visitors are welcome
to use the full-sized open-air swimming pool or just to sit in the
shady spot in our garden - and relax.
